TMJ/TMD Treatment in Barrie, ON
We each have two TMJs, temporomandibular joints. These joints connect the mandible, lower jawbone, to the rest of the skull. You can palpate your TMJs by placing a finger or two in front of each ear, then opening and closing your mouth. Looking for TMD treatment near you? We have you covered.
The problem with TMD is that it can make daily activities like talking, chewing, and even yawning tedious and painful. Our aim at Dr. David A. Staples is to relieve the pain and inflammation so our patients can go back to resuming their life without restrictions.
The diagnosis of TMD starts with interviewing patients. We’ll ask what it is that’s bothering them and if anything makes it better or worse. Patients can complain of pain, restriction of movement, clicking sounds, or a combination of these. We’ll examine your jaw, your bite, and TMJs to determine the appropriate treatment to alleviate your symptoms.
